Pool Pump System Barrier Project
This post will show how we created a pool pump system barrier to help some residents gain some peace of mind, as well as use of their patios.
Acoustiblok Inc. was contacted by a project manager at a senior living community in St. Pete, Florida. The project manager was seeking help to resolve a noise issue with their pool pump system. The noise from the pool pump system was extremely loud. The residents were unable to sit out on their porches to relax or read without being disturbed by the annoying low frequency humming noise. Due to the acoustic complexity at the location, Acoustiblok utilized the ARTVIS to determine the specific noise points.
Testing revealed that the pump noise was reaching all four levels of the building. Sound level readings were as high as 79+dBa. This is well over the 50-60dBa recommended for rest and relaxation. Subsequent to careful analysis, it was decided that an acoustic barrier would be the best solution. The customer elected to use one constructed with our All Weather Sound Panels
After installation of the pool pump system barrier, complaints ceased; the noise was virtually gone. The facility was so pleased with the results that they plan to install AWSP’s at their other properties.
