Commercial Cryogenic Tank Enclosure Project

Acoustiblok was contacted to design and manufacture a custom enclosure using our patented All Weather Sound Panels^®, to deal with the noise from their cryogenic tank’s safety relief valve.  Such a valve produces a violent and sudden shock of noise when it “pops-off” which can reach as high as 100dB!Our CAD engineer was provided with drawings and measurements to design each section of the enclosure.  Custom cut-outs were necessary in some of the panels to allow for pipe and gas lines.  A hinged door provides access to the interior of the enclosure when necessary.

Upon installation of the enclosure the client had this to say – “Here are some pictures I promised.  Everything fit great!!  You guys did a great job following the drawings.  Everyone likes the look of the finished product and may be looking into other needs within the plant.  I hope to put the walls to the test soon for noise abatement when we start flowing the valve again.”

We received a follow up message stating: “Testing has gone well with reduced noise and they added a level of thermal insulation to the tank as well.  The fitment is like a glove and they are still doing well in the weather.”
